Someone Tell LeBron James He’s Rich
Depending on who you wanted to be the next president of the United States. today is either the end of democracy or the beginning of a brighter future.
If you are LeBron James, who publicly endorsed Kamala Harris, you are under the the impression that Donald Trump becoming the 47th president of the US will put your daughter Zhuri’s rights in danger.
I don’t know who has to remind LeBron today, but he is a billionaire.
If there is one thing our capitalistic country guarantees, it’s the rights of billionaires and their families. But based on his latest Instagram post, LeBron seems to think Zhuri’s rights are in danger.
“HEAVY ON MY HEART & MIND THIS AM MY PRINCESS!! PROMISE TO PROTECT YOU WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE AND MORE!! WE DON’T NEED THEIR HELP!”
LeBron seems to infer with this post that he believes his daughter Zhuri’s rights are at risk with the Harris election loss.
This is the LeBron who owns two homes in Ohio. Both a $9.2 million home in Bath Township and a $10 million home in Fairlawn.
Ohio allows abortions through 21 weeks and six days of gestation which was passed by the voters in Ohio on December 7, 2023. Included in that measure is the Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety Amendment which protects reproductive freedom, including abortion in the state of Ohio. (Source)
This is the LeBron who plays for the LA Lakers and owns multiple homes in California including a $21 million and $23 million home in Brentwood, and a $37 million compound in Beverly Hills.
California allows abortions up to six months. SIX MONTHS! This right is protected and enshrined in the state’s constitution.
As always, LeBron likes to make everything about him and play the victim but as usual, he is far from it.
Zhuri and the James family not only live in states where women’s rights are prioritized, but also constitutionally protected.
I understand his sentiment and though his fear comes from a fatherly place, it comes off out-of-touch not just because of his home states reproductive rights but his financial status.
Even if LeBron and his family lived in more pro-life states, he is a BILLIONAIRE. Laws don’t apply to billionaires in the US.
And that is the bigger issue.
Every election us mere peasants vote on who will make the laws and enforce them, while the elite class is the loudest and least affected.
It’s what makes LeBron’s Instagram message so infuriating.
I don’t feel sorry for him or his daughter.
They will be just fine.
They will always be just fine.
